Ludhiana bicycle industry warns of relocation due to power cuts

The bicycle industry in Ludhiana, Punjab, is facing significant operational challenges due to prolonged and frequent power outages. Industrialists report that these electricity disruptions are hindering production and forcing manufacturing units to rely on generators to maintain operations.

Avtar Singh Bhoghal, an industry representative, noted that while generators allow work to continue, they significantly increase production costs. The instability in power supply is also affecting the regular functioning of the labor force. Bhoghal warned that if the electricity situation is not resolved, manufacturers may be compelled to relocate their industrial units to other states to avoid unsustainable operational expenses.
