Ludhiana voter list controversy over Bhagat Singh photo
A controversy has emerged in Punjab after the image of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh was allegedly found next to a voter's name in the Ludhiana East assembly constituency voter list. Congress leader and former Punjab Pradesh Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring raised the issue, questioning the reliability of the electoral process and demanding an impartial investigation by the Election Commission.
Warring claimed the discrepancy was located at serial number 422 in polling station number 38. Former MLA Sanjay Talwar also highlighted the issue, suggesting that besides the entry for Bhagat Singh, eight other entries contained incorrect photographs. Talwar has called for a comprehensive review of voter lists across all 235 polling stations in the constituency.
Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain stated that the administration will seek information from the relevant voter registration officer to investigate the matter. The extent of the error and the cause of the incorrect image can only be determined following an official inquiry.
