Ludhmila Hajjar considered for Brazil's Ministry of Health

Cardiologist Ludhmila Hajjar, president of the Instituto Tecnológico de Medicina Inteligente do Brasil (ITMI), is being considered to lead the Ministry of Health in President Lula da Silva's next term. She would potentially replace Alexandre Padilha, who may return to the presidential palace to strengthen relations with the National Congress.

ITMI is the first Brazilian public hospital focused on artificial intelligence, telehealth, and advanced automation. The institute recently won a public call from the Ministry with a management contract valued at R$ 1.95 billion over four years. Additionally, the institute received funding from the BRICS Bank, which is led by former president Dilma Rousseff.
