Luděk Hrzal, prominent Evropa 2 radio host and DJ, dies at 60

Luděk Hrzal, a prominent Czech radio host and DJ closely associated with the station Evropa 2, has died at the age of 60. His death was announced by his former colleague Pavel Hájek, also known as Doktor Buben.

Hrzal had been battling leukemia since 2022. In 2023, he underwent a bone marrow transplant donated by his daughter, Lucie, which initially provided hope for his recovery. However, the disease eventually returned in a more aggressive form, leading to his transition into palliative care.

Colleagues and friends, including radio personality Leoš Mareš, have expressed their condolences, noting Hrzal's significant impact on the Czech broadcasting landscape. His passing follows the recent loss of fellow broadcaster Patrik Hezucký.
