Luděk Nekuda faced StB scrutiny following theatrical performance
Luděk Nekuda, a versatile Czech entertainer, musician, and scriptwriter, faced professional difficulties due to the StB (State Security) following his 1970 production ‘Syn plku’ at the Waterloo theatre in Ostrava. The play, which featured critical reactions to the onset of normalization, was deemed too provocative by the totalitarian regime.
Nekuda, known for his wit and musical talents, had previously worked with the Semafor Theatre and served as a moderator for Czechoslovak Radio and television.
