Ludogorets Razgrad breaks transfer record with Ivan Zhelizko signing
Ludogorets Razgrad has completed the signing of Ukrainian midfielder Ivan Zhelizko from the Polish club Lechia Gdańsk. The transfer fee is reported to be 4 million euros, to be paid over a two-year period.
This deal sets a new record for the highest transfer fee in Ludogorets' history, surpassing the previous record of 3.5 million euros set by Kwadwo Duah. For Lechia Gdańsk, the sale follows their relegation from the Ekstraklasa and provides a significant financial boost, similar to their recent sale of Tomáš Bobček to Frosinone.
Zhelizko, 27, joins the Bulgarian side after a successful three-year tenure in Poland, where he made 89 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists. His move comes after several Polish clubs, including Widzew Łódź and Raków Częstochowa, reportedly expressed interest in the midfielder.
