Ludovic Tézier awarded 2026 Premio Bastianini

French baritone Ludovic Tézier has been named the recipient of the 2026 Premio Bastianini. The biennial award, presented by the Associazione Internazionale Culturale Musicale ‘Ettore Bastianini’, recognizes outstanding performers in the baritone voice.

Tézier will be honored on September 26, 2026, at the Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena, Italy. The jury cited his distinguished international career and his mastery of the Italian repertoire, particularly the works of Verdi. The award highlights his authority in major baritone roles, his attention to phrasing, legato, and expressive elegance, which the association notes creates a link to the artistic legacy of Ettore Bastianini.

Since its inception in 2017, previous recipients of the prize include Simone Piazzola, Nicola Alaimo, Luca Salsi, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, and a posthumous award to Dmitri Hvorostovsky. The ceremony will take place as part of the ‘Viva Bastianini!’ festival.
