Ludovica Terlizzi wins 10 km gold at World Junior Championships

Italian swimmer Ludovica Terlizzi won the gold medal in the 10 km open water swimming event for the 18-19 age category at the World Junior Championships. Competing in Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz, Argentina, Terlizzi finished with a time of 1:55:35.00.

The race took place in Lago Sur under challenging conditions, with water temperatures of 17 °C requiring the use of wetsuits. Terlizzi finished more than a minute ahead of second-place finisher Polina Koziakina of Russia and third-place Napsugar Nagy of Hungary.

Other Italian athletes placed highly in the competition, with Giovanni Lauricella finishing sixth, Davide Grossi seventh, and Erika Giacomini eighth. In the men's 18-19 category, Hungary's Mate Karpati took first place, followed by Colin Jacobs of the United States and Arthur Aguiar of Brazil.
