Ludwig season 2 to premiere on BBC this August

The BBC detective comedy-drama series ‘Ludwig’ is returning for a second season. The new chapter is scheduled to premiere on August 20 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with availability on BritBox.

Returning leads David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin reprise their roles as John Taylor and Lucy Betts-Taylor. The plot follows John in his new capacity as a crime scene consultant for the Cambridge Police Authority. While working alongside DCI Russell Carter, John faces a professional restriction: he is forbidden from using police resources to investigate the disappearance of his twin brother, James.

The new season introduces several cast members, including Stephen Merchant as Danny Sloane, an arrogant snooker champion, Mark Bonnar as editor Gareth Fisher, and Sian Clifford as local MP Joanne Kemper. The upcoming episodes are expected to involve themes of missing detectives, multiple murders, and high-ranking cover-ups.
