Ludwig series two achieves biggest scripted launch of the year
The second series of the BBC detective drama ‘Ludwig’, starring David Mitchell, has achieved the largest scripted launch of the year across all broadcasters and streaming platforms. The first episode attracted 9.1 million viewers over a 28-day period.
On BBC iPlayer, the premiere episode reached 5.5 million viewers, marking the second-largest audience for a BBC comedy opening episode this year. The series was created by Mark Brotherhood and produced by Big Talk Studios in collaboration with That Mitchell and Webb Company, in co-production with BritBox and ZDF.
Following the conclusion of the six-part run, a Christmas special featuring Sir David Suchet has been announced. Additionally, production is currently underway for the third series.
