Ludwigshafen Police Arrest Two for Cannabis and Alcohol on Playground
On 5 August 2026 police in Ludwigshafen‑Süd responded to reports that two individuals were consuming alcohol and cannabis on a local playground. Officers arrived while one person was smoking a joint; a small amount of narcotics was seized, an administrative offence was opened and the individual was expelled from the site. The second person was found to have an active arrest warrant and was taken into custody. The incident breaches the German Cannabis Consumption Act, which prohibits drug use within 100 metres of schools, childcare facilities and playgrounds and in the presence of minors.
