Ludwigshafen school leadership replaced amid violence and high teacher absenteeism

The leadership of the Karolina-Burger-Realschule plus in Ludwigshafen is being replaced following a period of severe instability and conflict. The Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education and the Aufsichts- und Dienstleistungsdirektion (ADD) announced the change to establish more stable structures after previous support and supervision efforts failed to resolve ongoing issues.

The school has been plagued by reports of violence, vandalism, and significant disciplinary problems. The severity of the situation is highlighted by high staff absenteeism; according to research by SWR, 17 out of 54 teachers were reported sick during the second week of the new school year, representing approximately 31.5% of the faculty.
