Ludwigshafen University welcomes over 1,100 new students

The Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Ludwigshafen (HWG LU) has welcomed over 1,100 new students for the 2026/2027 winter semester. According to preliminary figures, the intake includes 953 Bachelor candidates and 183 Master or MBA students.

This marks the third consecutive increase in first-year enrollment numbers for the institution. President Prof. Dr. Gunther Piller noted that the high numbers reflect trust in the university. He emphasized that while technical expertise is a priority, the curriculum also focuses on soft skills, intellectual competence, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

Ludwigshafen Mayor Prof. Dr. Klaus Blettner also attended the welcome event, welcoming the students as new members of the city's community and noting the energy they bring to the region.
