Luffu Link: Fitbit founders launch screen-free family health wearable

Luffu, a startup founded by Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman, has announced the Luffu Link, a screen-free wearable designed for family health and safety monitoring. Unlike traditional smartwatches, the device focuses on discreetly tracking health metrics such as heart rate, sleep, activity, and breathing rate without a display.

The Luffu Link features built-in 4G LTE and GPS, allowing it to function independently of a smartphone. Users can use a single physical button to record voice notes regarding symptoms, medications, or moods, which are then organized by AI within the Luffu app. The device also supports emergency functions, such as sending a location-based help request or a quick check-in to trusted family members.

Targeting caregivers, seniors, and even pets, the ecosystem aims to help families coordinate care by identifying meaningful changes in health patterns. The device is available for pre-order in the United States for approximately $250 to $300, with official shipping expected in early 2027. A subscription model for family plans is also planned.
