Luffu Link: Screenless LTE wearable launched by Fitbit co-founders

Luffu, a startup founded by Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman, has announced the Luffu Link, a screenless LTE-enabled wearable designed for health monitoring and family safety. The device aims to assist caregivers, particularly those looking after elderly relatives, by providing continuous health tracking without the distractions of a traditional smartwatch.

The Luffu Link features sensors to monitor activity, sleep, heart rate, and heart rate variability. A key feature is its voice-memo capability; users can record notes regarding medication, meals, or symptoms via a physical button, which are then organized by AI within the Luffu app.

Equipped with GPS and cellular connectivity, the device allows for location sharing and emergency communication even without a smartphone. The LTE service is integrated into a monthly subscription model. The product is expected to release in the first half of next year, with a retail price of approximately $300.
