Lufkin to host ‘Rock The Park’ for National Night Out

The city of Lufkin will host ‘Rock The Park’ on October 6 at Cotton Square in Downtown Lufkin to celebrate National Night Out. The free event, scheduled from 6 pm to 8 pm, aims to strengthen partnerships between law enforcement and the local community.

Activities for families include live music from the Crimestoppers Band, face painting, a photo booth, and various refreshments such as free coffee and sno-cones. Children will have the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, including a Lufkin Police SWAT truck, a patrol boat, a fire truck, and an ambulance.

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign designed to promote neighborhood camaraderie and safer communities. While most of the United States observes the event in August, Texas holds its celebrations on the first Tuesday of October.
