Lufthansa blocks first‑class upgrade for drag queen Candy Crash with baby

On a long‑haul Lufthansa flight from Germany to Los Angeles, German drag queen and reality‑TV personality Candy Crash travelled with her six‑month‑old baby while seated in Business Class. She asked cabin crew for an upgrade to First Class, noting that two seats were reportedly still free. Lufthansa refused, explaining that its booking system does not allow post‑booking upgrades when an infant is present. A flight attendant added that upgrades with babies are rarely granted because many First‑Class passengers expect a quiet cabin. Crash expressed confusion, pointing out that the baby would sit on her lap in Business Class as well, and highlighted the high cost of a First‑Class ticket (around €17,000). She thanked the crew for the Business Class service she received.
