Lufthansa Group and Air France-KLM announce network expansions
Air France and KLM are investing in product upgrades for the Flying Blue program, including a new Air France lounge in Frankfurt's Terminal 3. The lounge offers 120 seats, a restaurant, and dedicated workspaces for Business Class passengers and Flying Blue Gold members. Additionally, Air France has updated its La Première lounge in Paris-Charles de Gaulle with new amenities and dining by Alain Ducasse.
Discover Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, has announced plans to launch regular flights from Frankfurt to Belize starting in December 2027. This service, initially scheduled twice weekly, marks the first transatlantic connection for the country. The route is expected to receive approximately $2 million in government subsidies to help reduce Belize's tourism dependence on the United States. The flights are anticipated to include a stop in Central America, potentially in Cancún, rather than being nonstop.
