Lugo A-6 highway crash kills two

Two occupants of a private car were killed on Wednesday after their vehicle collided violently with a road‑maintenance van on the A‑6 autovía near the parish of Bóveda in Lugo, heading toward A Coruña. The impact caused the car to catch fire, trapping the occupants.

Emergency responders—including Galician health services, the Traffic Guard, and Lugo firefighters—arrived quickly, extinguished the blaze and confirmed the fatalities. The accident forced the closure of the A‑6 in both directions while the scene was cleared and the roadway investigated.
