Lugo Film Week to host 48th edition in Galicia

The XLVIII Lugo Film Week, Galicia’s longest-running film festival of its kind, is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 26. Organized by the Grupo Fotocinematográfico Fonmiñá, the event will feature 135 films selected from 1,461 submissions, including approximately 50 Galician productions.

The festival will utilize various venues, including the Auditorio Municipal Gustavo Freire, O Vello Cárcere, and the Pazo de San Marcos. Programming includes premieres, documentaries, short films, and children's activities. The official section will feature nightly screenings such as ‘Un pájaro azul’ and ‘Frontera’.

The festival's visual identity, designed by artist Diego AS, commemorates the centenary of Marilyn Monroe's birth. This edition also marks the return of the University of Santiago de Compostela as a participant.
