Lugo residents report recurring odors as opposition files inquiry

Residents in Lugo are reporting a resurgence of strong, unpleasant odors across various parts of the city and its hamlets. The issue has resurfaced approximately one year after the municipal administration previously promised structural interventions to address emissions, which at the time were linked to a specific agricultural company.

In response to the persistent complaints, the Fratelli d'Italia opposition group, represented by councilor Gian Marco Grandi, has filed a formal inquiry with the municipal council. The inquiry seeks clarification from Mayor Elena Zannoni and the city administration regarding the official causes of the odors, which vary by location and time of day.

The opposition is demanding information on what mitigation measures have been implemented over the last 12 months, the results of those actions, and what further monitoring and control measures will be taken to protect public health and the environment.
