Lugoj announces road and pedestrian closures on Splaiul Tinereții
The Lugoj City Hall has announced the temporary closure of road and pedestrian traffic on Splaiul Tinereții to facilitate major public investment works. The restrictions will apply to the section between the intersection of Coloman Wallisch Street and Splaiul Tinereții, and the intersection of Ion Neculce Street and Splaiul Tinereții.
The closure is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2026, and is expected to last until December 31, 2026, covering a period of approximately three months and 20 days. These works are part of a project titled ‘Increasing the quality of life in Lugoj Municipality through the rehabilitation of green spaces and modernization of parks’.
Key improvements include reconfiguring the roadway to a one-way system, modernizing infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians with dedicated lanes and wider sidewalks, and upgrading urban infrastructure. Upgrades will also feature a complete replacement of the public lighting system, the implementation of a modern video surveillance system, and the introduction of telecommunications networks in underground conduits. Additionally, new minimalist urban furniture, such as benches and bicycle racks, will be installed.
