Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan backs Prabowo’s 8% economic growth target

Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), expressed optimism regarding President Prabowo Subianto’s goal of achieving 8 percent economic growth for Indonesia. Luhut stated that this target is attainable if all parties work cohesively and remain open to input.

During the opening of his career gallery in Jakarta, Luhut emphasized the importance of leadership that listens to others rather than assuming absolute correctness. He noted that effective decision-making requires diverse perspectives, often relying on input from younger team members to address blind spots.

Luhut also highlighted the potential of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. He suggested that the significant state funding directed toward this initiative could stimulate new economic ecosystems at the grassroots level. However, he stressed the need for continuous evaluation and pilot projects, similar to the approach used in GovTech development, to ensure the program's effectiveness.
