Luigi Bisignani testifies in SS Lazio market manipulation probe

Luigi Bisignani has voluntarily appeared before prosecutor Lorenzo Del Giudice to provide statements regarding an investigation into market manipulation. The probe examines whether articles published in Il Tempo were intended to cause a significant alteration in the share price of SS Lazio Spa, a publicly traded company.

Bisignani denied any conspiracy to damage Lazio president Claudio Lotito, claiming his intentions were to help a friend in difficulty. His legal counsel, Martina Pompei, stated that Bisignani never believed his writings could influence the stock market. He characterized his articles as editorial choices designed to drive readership and digital subscriptions.

Bisignani also addressed his communications with Mauro Masi and Francesco Maiolini, denying any ulterior motives beyond journalistic pursuits and a planned book project. He further denied having any connections to organized fan groups.
