Luis Alfonso Silva Romo supports social welfare in Istmo de Tehuantepec

Senator Luis Alfonso Silva Romo joined Governor Salomón Jara Cruz on a working tour of the Istmo de Tehuantepec region in Oaxaca to oversee social welfare and sports initiatives.

During the visit, Silva Romo witnessed the distribution of the Margarita Maza Card to 813 female heads of household, a program injecting nearly 5 million pesos directly into the local economy. The senator emphasized that delivering public funds without intermediaries ensures social justice for families in Oaxaca.

Additionally, the tour included support for local sports, highlighted by attending the Copa Binnizá 2026 baseball final between Tehuantepec and El Espinal. Silva Romo stated that recovering public spaces and supporting sports are essential strategies to steer youth away from violence and promote community peace.
