Luis Allen leads baseball training clinic for Managua youth academies

The Managua Mayor's Office organized a specialized baseball clinic for youth athletes and technical staff at the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park. The training session was led by Luis Allen, a former professional catcher in the Nicaraguan Professional Baseball League and a current instructor for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The clinic focused on technical skills for catchers, including blocking wild pitches, receiving techniques, and improving throwing speed and accuracy to prevent base stealing. Participants also received instruction on tactical skills and mental preparation for high-performance competition.

Managua Vice-Mayor Enrique Armas emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure and continuous training to maintain competitive standards against regional powers like Panama, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. He noted that connecting young players with experienced professionals is vital for the development of the country's baseball talent.
