Luis Binks receives first Scotland national team call-up

Brøndby IF captain Luis Binks has received his first call-up to the Scotland senior national football team. The 25-year-old defender is among a group of uncapped players training in La Manga as manager Sébastien Pocognoli prepares for a Nations League fixture against Slovenia in Ljubljana.

Binks, who is eligible for Scotland through his grandfather, previously represented England at the youth level. He noted that during his time in the Tottenham youth system, the club's connections led to his involvement with England, despite his personal preference for Scotland.

After a career that included stints with Montreal Impact, Bologna, Como, and Coventry, Binks has established himself as a leader at Brøndby. He expressed that the selection is a significant honor for him and his family, providing a mental shift from his intense domestic season in Denmark.
