Luis Campos supports general strike and unified leftist coalition in Canary Islands

Luis Campos, Secretary General of Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC), has expressed support for a general strike in the Canary Islands, citing an unprecedented housing emergency and low wages. Campos noted that many residents must spend approximately 50 percent or more of their income on rent, affecting not only vulnerable populations but also young people and working families.

Regarding the upcoming general elections, Campos advocated for the creation of a single electoral ticket representing the Canarian left. This proposed coalition aims to unite nationalist, leftist, and alternative political spaces to provide a clear alternative to right-wing and far-right parties. He emphasized that this movement would maintain absolute autonomy in decision-making for the archipelago while focusing on issues such as housing, public services, and fair wages.
