Luis Carlos Rivera named LMB Manager of the Year

Luis Carlos Rivera has been named the 2026 Manager of the Year for the Mexican Baseball League (LMB). The award recognizes his leadership of the Olmecas de Tabasco during the 2026 regular season.

Despite a difficult start to the season with eight losses in their first nine games, Rivera led the Olmecas to a 54-38 record and a .587 winning percentage. This performance secured second place in the South Zone and propelled the team to the Serie del Rey, ending a 33-year drought without a championship series appearance.

The selection was made by the 2026 Special Nominations Electoral Committee, which includes sports staff, coaches, journalists, and media representatives from all 20 LMB teams. Rivera is the first Mexican manager to receive this honor since Roberto “Chapo” Vizcarra in 2022.
