Luis Castillo and Sandy Alcántara cement legacy with Miami Marlins

Dominican players Luis Castillo and Sandy Alcántara have secured prominent places in the history of the Miami Marlins. Castillo was part of the inaugural class of the Marlins Legends Hall of Fame, established in 2025, alongside figures such as Jeff Conine and Jim Leyland. A key member of the 2003 World Series championship team, Castillo holds the franchise record for most games played and previously set a Major League record for second basemen with a 35-game hitting streak in 2002.

Sandy Alcántara has recently achieved historic milestones for the franchise. He has become the Marlins' all-time leader in strikeouts and innings pitched, surpassing Ricky Nolasco.
