Luis Díaz nominated for Ballon d'Or following Bayern Munich success

Luis Díaz has been nominated for the 2026 Ballon d'Or by France Football, following a highly successful season with Bayern Munich. During the 2025/2026 campaign, the Colombian winger contributed 28 goals and 21 assists across 60 matches for both his club and the Colombia national team, helping Bayern Munich secure the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the German Super Cup.

In European club competition, Díaz is beginning his pursuit of the UEFA Champions League title as Bayern Munich faces Bodø/Glimt in the opening match of the league phase. If successful, he would become the fourth Colombian player to win the trophy, joining Edwin Congo, Iván Ramiro Córdoba, and James Rodríguez.
