Luis Díaz set to rejoin Bayern Munich lineup as coach stresses need for more preparation

Colombian winger Luis Díaz has returned to Bayern Munich’s pre‑season training after speculation about a move to Saudi Arabia. He featured for a few minutes in the friendly against Jeju SK in South Korea, but Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said the player is “not yet ready” to start in upcoming matches. Kompany expects Díaz to be used as a substitute while he builds match fitness, with a likely first start in the Bundesliga opener against Stuttgart on 28 August. The team will also face Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup on 22 August, where Díaz could be on the bench. Bayern’s young forward Arijon Ibrahimović praised Díaz’s talent and expressed enthusiasm about learning from the Colombian star.

The club aims to have Díaz fully integrated for the league campaign and the Champions League later in the season.
