Luis de Llano detained in Mexico City over Sasha Sokol case

Mexican television producer Luis de Llano was detained in Mexico City for failing to comply with judicial sanctions stemming from a civil case involving singer Sasha Sokol. The arrest, carried out by the Secretariat of Citizen Security, was a response to two separate 15-hour administrative detention orders totaling 30 hours.

The sanctions were issued because De Llano failed to fulfill specific requirements mandated by a final ruling from the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN). These requirements included recording and presenting a public apology to Sokol and publishing a summary of the court's sentence, which confirmed his responsibility for moral damage and sexual abuse against the singer when she was 14 and he was 39.

De Llano was held at the San Fernando Administrative Sanctions Center. His legal team has challenged the arrest, labeling it illegal and an “arbitrariness,” and has filed an injunction (amparo) to seek his release. Legal representatives for Sokol noted that the arrest follows months of ignored fines and judicial requirements. They warned that continued systematic defiance of court orders could lead to criminal charges punishable by up to five years in prison.
