Luis de Llano released after detention in Sasha Sokol case

Mexican producer Luis de Llano was released from a temporary detention center in Mexico City after spending approximately 24 hours in custody. His arrest was the result of two orders issued by a judge from the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City for contempt of court.

The legal actions stem from a sentence in favor of singer and actress Sasha Sokol regarding moral damages. De Llano failed to comply with court-ordered measures, which included recording and presenting a public apology and publishing a summary of the sentence that confirmed his civil liability for moral damage following allegations that he sexually abused Sokol when she was a minor.

In a related development, media personality Yordi Rosado defended his 2022 interview with De Llano, which originally brought the situation to public attention. Rosado stated that the interview helped expose the crime and contributed to a judicial precedent regarding the non-prescription of child sexual abuse cases, though he previously issued a public apology to Sokol for the way the interview was handled.
