Luis Eduardo Aybar Sanitary City nears completion despite pending services
The Luis Eduardo Aybar Sanitary City (formerly Morgan) is nearing completion, though several areas and services remain pending to reach full operational capacity. Dr. José Joaquín Puello, president of the complex, stated that while the facility is ‘practically finished,’ certain details must be resolved, with a goal to finalize outstanding works before the end of 2026.
Key pending tasks include the delivery of 14 operating rooms at the Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico. Although the equipment has been installed, technical issues with door frames have delayed their full functionality. Additionally, two floors designated for internal medicine are approximately 95% complete.
Work is also ongoing in the academic area on the sixth floor, specifically regarding the classroom auditorium. Other academic facilities, such as the library, dining hall, and resident physician quarters—which include 100 private beds—are already finished. The complex is also working toward activating the area dedicated to psychiatric patient care.
