Luis Fabián Artime Leads Belgrano Celebrations After Apertura Title

Club Atlético Belgrano secured the Torneo Apertura 2026 championship, the first top‑division title in the club’s history. President Luis Fabián Artime fulfilled his promise by leading a 32‑kilometre pilgrimage from the Catholic University to the Virgen de Lourdes shrine in Alta Gracia, accompanied by board members, supporters and Archbishop Ángel Sixto Rossi. He concluded the trek humorously, saying the promise was kept despite feeling “like an old player at minute 90”.

Artime also addressed the future of defender Cristian Romero, noting the player’s desire to return to Belgrano but emphasizing the €50 million fee required from Tottenham. He mentioned that Inter Milan is prepared to offer a three‑year contract worth €5 million per year, while acknowledging the contract terms are “insignificant” to the player.
