Luis Lauro Reyes Rodríguez resigns as Bienestar delegate in Tamaulipas
Luis Lauro Reyes Rodríguez announced his resignation as the delegate of the federal Programas para el Bienestar in the state of Tamaulipas after more than four years in the post. During his tenure the beneficiary registry expanded from roughly 300,000 to 1.3 million people across the state’s 43 municipalities and a total social investment of 25.56 billion pesos was delivered directly to families, seniors, people with disabilities, students and agricultural producers.
In his farewell message he thanked President Claudia Sheinbaum, Secretary of Bienestar Leticia Ramírez Amaya and Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya for their support and coordination. He said he would continue to serve the public in a new capacity, although no successor has been announced.
Speculation about his replacement has surfaced, with some commentators suggesting former delegate Rodolfo González Valderrama could return to the position, but the official transition remains pending.
