Luis Miguel Romero joins Cañeros de Los Mochis

The Cañeros de Los Mochis have confirmed the signing of Cuban pitcher Luis Miguel Romero as their seventh foreign player for the 2026-2027 Liga Mexicana del Pacífico season.

Romero, a 32-year-old right-handed pitcher from Guantánamo, brings extensive international experience to the roster. His career includes stints in the Oakland Athletics minor league system up to the AAA level, the Cuban National Series with Indios de Guantánamo, and participation in the World Baseball Classic with Cuba in 2023 and 2026.

He is already familiar with the Mexican Pacific League, having previously played for the Tomateros de Culiacán and Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón. Additionally, his professional background includes playing in the Mexican Baseball League for El Águila de Veracruz and Conspiradores de Querétaro, as well as competing in the Caribbean Series while playing in Venezuela.
