Luis Ángel Malagón's Return Timeline Set After Achilles Injury

Mexican goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón, who missed the FIFA World Cup after rupturing his Achilles tendon in a club match, announced that he expects to be back on the field for Club América within roughly one month, possibly as early as two weeks. In a TUDN interview he said the recovery could allow him to return for the sixth or seventh matchday of the Apertura season.

Malagón described the injury as a severe emotional blow, recalling weeks of limited appetite, isolation from his family, and the difficulty of relearning to walk. He detailed the rehabilitation process, including removal of the cast, use of a boot, and gradual mobility work, before aiming to resume his role as the team's starting goalkeeper under coach Guillermo Almada.
