Luis Pichardo ‘Guariboa’ builds urban music career
Dominican artist and entrepreneur Luis Pichardo, known professionally as ‘Guariboa’, is building a career that integrates urban music, entrepreneurship, and Dominican cultural identity. Originally from Villas Agrícolas, Santo Domingo, Pichardo began his professional journey with the Top Dollar Entertainment label, working alongside urban music figures such as Lápiz Conciente and Monkey Black.
Since his official debut in 2008 with the track ‘Melma Pura’, Pichardo has developed a repertoire of over 500 unreleased tracks. Several of his songs, including ‘10 Bandz Spanish Remix’, ‘Los Haters’, and ‘Las Terrenas’, have surpassed 10 million views on YouTube.
Music is a family legacy for Pichardo; he is the son of musician Héctor Luis Pichardo and the nephew of the percussionist Felo. He often incorporates a baseball bat into his performances and videos as a symbol of his passion for the sport and his Dominican roots.
