Luis Posado awarded SEOM prize for lung cancer research

Oncologist Luis Posado Domínguez has been awarded the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM) doctoral thesis prize for young researchers. The award will be presented on October 1 at the Reina Sofía Museum.

His research focuses on therapeutic and prognostic strategies for advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The work examines the real-world clinical impact of immunotherapy, clinical and molecular biomarkers, and palliative care in patients with advanced or metastatic disease.

Posado, who works at the Biomedical Research Institute of Salamanca and provides clinical consultations, aims to address the challenges of high mortality and biological heterogeneity in this type of cancer. His research seeks to improve treatment sequencing and the identification of robust prognostic biomarkers.
