Luis Suárez becomes Sporting CP's top Champions League scorer

Colombian forward Luis Suárez has become Sporting CP’s all-time leading scorer in the UEFA Champions League. With seven goals in the competition, he has surpassed former players Liedson, Viktor Gyökeres, and Francisco Trincão.

Suárez reached this milestone following his goal in Sporting’s 2-0 victory against Lens. The striker expressed pride in entering the club's history, noting that while he was not consciously aiming for the record, the achievement is a significant honor for him and his family. He emphasized his continued focus on performance, stating that after scoring, his immediate thought is always on scoring the next one.
