Luis Suárez linked to FC Barcelona amid Sporting CP release clause

Sporting CP striker Luis Suárez has become a subject of transfer interest from major European clubs, including FC Barcelona, following a highly productive season in the Primeira Liga. Suárez finished the 2025 season with 28 goals in 32 matches, contributing to a total of 38 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions, including five in the Champions League.

Despite the interest, a transfer appears difficult due to Sporting CP’s firm stance. The Portuguese club has reportedly set a release clause of 80 million euros and shows no intention of negotiating a lower fee. Furthermore, the Colombian forward is under contract with Sporting CP until June 2030, complicating any potential move during the upcoming January transfer window.
