Luisa Görlich returns to ski jumping after injury recovery
Ski jumper Luisa Görlich is returning to international competition at the Summer Grand Prix in Rasnov, Romania. The 27-year-old, a former team world champion, is making her comeback 19 months after a severe fall during the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim.
The accident in Trondheim resulted in her third anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, specifically a tear in her right knee. This followed previous ACL injuries in 2018 and 2024. Görlich expressed optimism regarding her preparation, stating, “I am thrilled to be back. I am very curious about what it will be like.”
Görlich is part of a five-athlete squad selected by the German Ski Association (DSV) for the upcoming events in Rasnov. The competition includes individual events on the normal hill scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
