Luisa Neubauer faces insults at AfD event in Germany

Climate activist Luisa Neubauer expressed distress following interactions with supporters of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party during a family festival in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Accompanied by YouTuber Marcant, Neubauer engaged in several conversations with event attendees.

During these encounters, Neubauer reported being subjected to personal insults, with individuals calling her ‘small’, ‘dumb’, and ‘sweet’ in a derogatory manner. Some attendees also criticized her lifestyle, specifically accusing her of flying frequently. When Neubauer attempted to discuss the AfD’s environmental policies, one participant claimed the party plans more for the environment than her movement does, while another stated that climate change is not a problem.

Neubauer described the experience as both ‘genuinely interesting and genuinely depressing’, noting that the interactions felt like speaking directly to an ‘insulting faction’ of online comment sections.
