Luisa Stefani reaches historic top 3 in WTA doubles rankings

Brazilian tennis player Luisa Stefani has reached the third position in the WTA doubles rankings following her semifinal appearance at the US Open. This achievement makes her the first Brazilian to hold a spot in the top three of the official WTA rankings since its inception in 1974.

Stefani’s season has been marked by significant success, including reaching the Wimbledon final and achieving four Grand Slam semifinals. Alongside her partner, Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski, she has secured three titles this year and holds the second position in the season-specific doubles standings.

Stefani is now preparing to compete in the SP Open, a WTA 250 tournament held in her hometown of São Paulo. She enters the event as the defending champion, though she will be partnering with Dabrowski this time instead of Timea Babos.
