Luisana Lopilato to star as Margarita Di Tullio in Argentine film Pepita la Pistolera

The Argentine crime drama Pepita la Pistolera, directed by Lucía Puenzo, will open in cinemas on 3 September 2026. The film stars Luisana Lopilato in the role of Margarita Di Tullio, the notorious 1980s figure known as “Pepita”.

The story focuses on the winter of 1985 in Mar del Plata, portraying a pregnant sex worker who confronts exploitation networks and police corruption after a violent home invasion that led to Di Tullio’s acquittal on self‑defence grounds. The trailer released this month highlights Lopilato’s transformation and the ensemble cast, while the production is backed by Zeppelin Studios and Pampa Films.
