Luiz Afonso Brankowski Bandeira killed in Porto Alegre shooting; three suspects arrested

Luiz Afonso Brankowski Bandeira, 40, was shot dead on Benjamim Moresco Street in the Cohab Cavalhada neighborhood of Porto Alegre. A woman was also wounded but survived. Police from the 6th Homicide and Personal Protection Division identified three suspects linked to the Bala na Cara gang. The gunmen fired from a Siena vehicle, then fled in a white Mobi after setting the car on fire. The first suspect was captured at a hospital while injured; a second was arrested in Alvorada, and a third was detained later that night in the Mathias Velho district of Canoas. Investigators believe the victims were drug users caught in a gang dispute, possibly related to debt collection or rivalry with the Os Manos group.

The investigation continues as authorities search for a possible fourth participant.
