Luiz Fernando Carvalho and Maria Fernanda Cândido reunite for new film

Director Luiz Fernando Carvalho and actress Maria Fernanda Cândido are reuniting for the new film ‘Objetos Perdidos’ (Lost Objects). Co-produced and distributed by Paris Filmes, the project is described as a ‘modern dystopian fable’ and a form of ‘chemical fiction’ that engages in a dialogue with science fiction.

The film draws inspiration from the work of Clarice Lispector, specifically the phrase ‘objetos perdidos’ from her 1973 book ‘Água-viva’. The plot follows a couple in an urban setting where streets and tunnels are empty, exploring themes of love and human connection in a seemingly desolate world.

Production is currently underway. Paris Filmes CEO Marcio Fraccaroli stated that the company intends to enter the film into various festivals next year before pursuing an international release. The cast also includes André Frateschi, Marcela Vivan Russo, and Maurice Durozier.
