Luizão investigated for domestic violence in São Paulo

Former Brazilian football player Luizão, a 2002 World Cup champion, is under investigation for domestic violence, psychological violence, bodily injury, threats, and insult following an incident in Maresias, São Paulo.

The victim, Luana Corte de Sá, reported to police that the altercation occurred in the early hours of a Sunday after a discussion triggered by jealousy. She alleged that Luizão struck her in the head and back and held her by the hair. The victim has requested urgent protective measures under the Maria da Penha Law and was referred for a forensic medical examination.

Luizão has denied the accusations, stating in a social media note that he is also a victim of aggression from his partner. He claimed he had reached his limit and has filed his own police report and undergone a forensic examination. Authorities are investigating the dynamics of the event to determine responsibility.
